Stroke Art Fair

Stroke Art Fair

We visited the Stroke Art Fair in Munich. The Stroke Art Fair - stroke-artfair.com - started out as a fair for street art and graffiti, but over the years has earned itself a place among the top 5 German art fairs. Since Stroke is not just an exhibition but a fair, the artworks on display can also be purchased. Here, the art fair remains true to its own vision of being an affordable art fair. There are no works for millions hanging on the wall here, but rather works by young, up-and-coming artists. And this is precisely what makes the fair so charming and is probably one of the reasons for its success. The proximity to the artists and galleries. There is no unapproachable distance here, as many artists were directly on site and were happy to be interviewed about their works. The exhibition venue, an old factory building in Munich's Werksviertel district, is also extremely fitting in this context. The basic idea as a street art fair can still be seen in many places and should not be denied, but the artists' works have long since ceased to fit into such rigid categories. Instead, a wide range of works from the most diverse areas and in the most diverse styles were shown. Colorful graffiti is on display, of course, but also paintings, sculptures, installations and prints. We took a long tour and wanted to show you a few of the highlights. We thought it was a great fair and are already looking forward to next year.
